We pick out 15 must-see works at the Singapore Biennale 2011

THE much-awaited Singapore Biennale 2011 finally kicked off over the weekend, and you've got two months to savour all 150 works by more than 60 artists. It's a lot to get through, so we've done a bit of your homework for you, dropping by the venues - Old Kallang Airport (aka "old People's Association" to most cabbies), the Singapore Art Museum and SAM 8Q, the National Museum of Singapore and, of course, the Merlion Hotel - and checking out the works a couple of times. The big, showy ones like The Merlion Hotel and the German barn (at OKA) may be getting all the buzz, but sometimes it's the quieter works that really stick with you. Still, regardless of which are your favourites, the most important thing is that we get the discussions about contemporary art going.
