Opposition figures Tan Jee Say and Frankie Low eye Hougang ward a day after Yaw Shin Leong sacking

Two men who have expressed an interest in contesting in Hougang are former presidential candidate Tan Jee Say (left) and former Reform Party chairman Frankie Low (right). By Tessa Wong A day after Mr Yaw Shin Leong was sacked from the Workers' Party (WP), several opposition politicians were already eyeing the former Hougang MP's ward. They are: former presidential candidate Tan Jee Say, and former Reform Party (RP) chairman Frankie Low. Both indicated they are open to contesting in a by-election. Meanwhile, both the National Solidarity Party (NSP) and the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) hunkered down on Thursday in separate meetings to discuss if they should make a play for the ward. The NSP said in a statement that it would be 'premature' to make its decision public as a by-election has not yet been called. Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus....
