A new undergraduate scholarship aimed at developing future leaders announced

A new undergraduate scholarship that is aimed at developing future Singaporean leaders in various strategic sectors was announced on Tuesday. The Singapore-Industry Scholarship, made possible by a partnership between the Government and 28 Singapore-based enterprises and organisations, will cover tuition fees and other costs of study at one of the four local autonomous universities or the Singapore Institute of Technology. This year, 100 scholarships will be given out. The scholarship is open only to Singaporean citizens. Announcing the scholarship at a ground-breaking ceremony at Seletar, Education Minister Heng Swee Kiat said the initiative is aimed at building a pool of local talent for Singapore's key and emerging industries.
