Anxiety after management changeover at Tisch Asia school
Students at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia here are worried about the fate of their school after a management changeover raised questions about its operations. Talk that some programmes offered at Tisch Asia will be scrapped and that some departments may be shut down has become a source of consternation for the more than 100 students enrolled at the Kay Siang Road institution. The worries began building after Dr Pari Sara Shirazi, who started Tisch Asia, was relieved of her duties as Tisch Asia's president in November last year. The school has not announced her replacement. After the removal of Dr Shirazi, Tisch Asia's parent university, New York University (NYU), whose NYU Tisch School of the Arts alumni include famous directors such as Oliver Stone, Martin Scorsese and Lee Ang, took over the management of the Singapore campus.
