SINGAPORE - Details of a pay review for healthcare practitioners - doctors, nurses and allied health professionals - will be revealed in the coming weeks by the Ministry of Health (MOH), as Singapore looks into expanding the pool to meet the growing demand for medical services. The review was announced in July last year. Minister of State (Health) Amy Khor said yesterday that the details will be announced at the MOH's Committee of Supply debate next month. The Government had previously announced the addition of 1,900 acute beds and 1,800 community hospital beds by 2020. Correspondingly, 6,400 more nurses and 1,800 more allied health staff and support staff will be needed, said Dr Khor, who also announced that MOH Holdings - the holding company of Singapore's public healthcare assets - and the National Healthcare Group and SingHealth will work together to offer scholarships...
