SNSD management agency SM Entertainment ventures into travel industry
SEOUL: Korean music label SM Entertainment, which manages top music groups like SNSD and Super Junior, has expanded into the travel and tourism industry, following its recent acquisition of Hawaiian travel firm Happy Hawaii, reported Korean media. SM Entertainment revealed Monday that it had renamed Happy Hawaii to SM Town Travel, and will leverage on its brand name as well as the growing popularity of Korean pop culture around the world, to introduce a unique range of travel services to SM Town Travel customers. "We will provide products and services that will differ from those provided by standard travel agencies," said SM Town Travel CEO Kang Jung Hyun, pointing out that the firm "aims to create synergies" between SM Entertainment's entertainment and travel businesses.
