NTU awarded S$5m to create permanent chair in natural hazards

SINGAPORE: The Nanyang Technological University has been awarded S$5 million to create a permanent chair in natural hazards. The fund is supported by global insurance group AXA. This is the first AXA Chair in Asia, and it will be held by prominent earth scientist Professor Kerry Sieh, who is also director of the Earth Observatory of Singapore.
