Below is an excerpt from a 1994 interview of the first Prime Minister of Singapore, David Marshall. From the interview below we can clearly see that if only David Marshall had continued being the Prime Minister of Singapore, the country will have been far much more different today. The interview below clearly shows how David Marshall is not a materialistic man but at the same time one who expects a dignified standard of living and who emphasizes education more than money. David Marshall will also not have built in any elitist system unlike Lee Kuan Yew. In an earlier part of this interview David Marshall talked about how we walked around Singapore on night to see the conditions of the suffering and count the numbers sleeping on the street.
