MFA advises S'poreans in Fukushima & Miyagi to evacuate immediately: SINGAPORE : Singapore's Ministry of Foreign...

SINGAPORE : Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has strongly recommended that Singaporeans currently in Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures evacuate immediately. It added that Singaporeans in prefectures neighbouring Fukushima, such as Yamagata and Niigata, as well as in the Kanto region (Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, Gunma, Ibaraki, Tochigi) consider leaving if they have no pressing reasons to remain there. MFA continues to advise against all non-essential travel to Japan. In the aftermath of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant problems in Japan, it has been advising Singaporeans in or around the affected areas to move to safer locations.
