Residents in California bracing themselves for a quake that is considered inevitable & long overdue

With these three "corners" of the Pacific Plate - the oceanic tectonic plate that lies beneath the Pacific Ocean - hit by devastating earthquakes in the past year, many are now wondering whether California, the fourth corner on the plate, could be the next victim. Residents in California have long been bracing themselves for a quake that is considered inevitable and long overdue and is most likely to strike along the southern end of the famed San Andreas Fault.
