Demand for late-night train service low: SMRT

We thank Mr Gerard Lim Huat Chye for his feedback ("Why don't late-night trains stop at Novena?", March 15, Voices Online). To date, demand for the last southbound train service remains very low and the current schedule meets demand adequately. We would like to assure TODAY readers we are continuously monitoring the situation to ensure we deliver the best travel experience possible for our customers. This includes the extension of service hours up to 2am on the eves of popular public holidays, Christmas, New Year's Day and Chinese New Year, and from April 21 (on the eve of Good Friday), the extension of last train departure time from City Hall MRT Station to 12.30am on the eves of all public holidays. This letter is only available online.
