13-year-old wins short film competition

THIRTEEN-year-old Amos Yee was the youngest filmmaker to have taken part in The New Paper FiRST Film Festival.�His three-minute self-directed, self-scripted short film, Jan�was also produced with the lowest budget. But that did not stop the secondary one student from shining in the film festival. His raw acting talent has earned him the Best Actor honour. His quirky film�also beat 159 other entries and won him the top prize of a HD camcorder and a $5,000 cash grant from the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts. The talented Yee has had his first brush with his school's disciplinary board though. He was once punished for�making offensive videos and sharing them on his Youtube Channel.
