Woman falls three floors and survives - for a second time (via ST iPhone App)

GEORGE TOWN - A 45-YEAR-OLD woman who is believed to be mentally challenged survived a fall from the balcony of her third-floor unit at the Taman Free School flats here. It was the second time she had fallen and survived. In the latest incident, Quek Bee Ling had the awning of the second floor unit to thank as it buffered her fall before she landed on the ground. She was rushed to the Penang Hospital after the 7pm incident on Friday and is reported to be in a stable condition. It is learnt that Quek had earlier climbed over the railings before hanging onto it with both hands. Witnesses and residents nearby then tried to coax her to climb back but it was too late. According to the resident whose house awning was dented, Quek had also fallen from her unit about three years ago but she only suffered bruises and cuts then.
