NUH houses new fertility training centre

SINGAPORE: The Centre for Reproductive Education and Specialist Training (CREST) has been set up at the National University Hospital (NUH) to train fertility experts from the region. It was officially opened by Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan Monday. The centre aims to train clinicians and embryologists seeking to further develop their skills. 33-year-old clinician Dr Jason Lim had been experiencing trouble signing up fro a suitable programme on In-Vitro fertilisation, saying there was a lack of a structured course in Singapore and in the region. "I've been trying very hard to look for any courses for a newcomer like myself. On the job, I guess what we do is that we learn bits here and bits there. We have to do it ourselves like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle and piece them up to have a whole understanding," said Dr Lim. Dr Lim joined the course at CREST along with 29 others when...
