S'pore religious leaders gather to show solidarity for Japan

SINGAPORE: Foreign Affairs Minister George Yeo and leaders of the Inter-Religious Organisation gathered Wednesday evening to remember those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. A moment of silence and prayer was led by leaders from 10 religions in Singapore as they expressed their solidarity for the people in Japan. About 100 people gathered to show their support for the people affected by the tragedy. Students also presented Japanese Ambassador Mr Yoichi Suzuki with well wishes in the form of cards. Mr Yeo said such a gesture of solidarity tonight was important as Singapore should be grateful for the huge contribution Japan has made to its economic development.
