A M'sia noodle factory was fined & shut down over health offences, such as workers using noodle bundles as pillows

THE bundles of kuay teow that they had packed during the day become pillows for the workers of a noodle factory in Kepong to lay their heads on at night. This was the situation they had to go through daily at the factory in the Taman Ehsan industrial area, which was found in a deplorable and unhygienic state during a raid by the health authorities on Monday, reported Sinar Harian. The workers were seen doing their work in shorts, without wearing the mandatory aprons, face masks and head covers when the enforcement officers from the Selayang Municipal Council made the spot-check following two earlier raids since October last year. The floors of the factory were wet, slippery and dirty due to poor drainage.
