The Singapore Memory Project sets up shop in Toa Payoh for residents to share memories #sgmemory

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Memory Project - where people are invited to contribute their memories related to Singapore - took the project to Toa Payoh so that residents could share their memories of one of Singapore's oldest estates. Mobile booths were set up yesterday evening so that residents could contribute memories on the spot, with volunteers on hand to provide guidance. There was also an exhibition of works by local artists, including a photo essay of life in Toa Payoh by photographer Nguan. The National Library Board, which is spearheading the project, hopes to collect five million memories by 2015. Since last August, Singaporeans have contributed more than 230,000 memories. It launched the SingaporeMemory.SG Web portal this month to collect contributions online, and an iPhone App will be available from next month so that contributions can be made through mobile pho...
