Singapore manufacturing output up 4.8% year-on-year.

SINGAPORE - Singapore's manufacturing output grew at its slowest pace in 15 months in February, rising a meagre 4.8 per cent year-on-year. Month-on-month, industrial output declined a seasonally adjusted 2 per cent. But economist say that after stripping out the volatile biomedical sector, output remains strong and will likely continue to grow in the months ahead. It was lackluster performance for manufacturing activity after 30 per cent year-on-year growth last year. Overall output growth slowed in February as biomedical production declined 8.9 per cent. But growth was still strong for precision engineering, which rose 30.7 per cent year-on-year. Chemicals production expanded 17.3 per cent and electronics output grew 10.7 per cent.
