S'pore, Thailand, US conclude military exercise: SINGAPORE: Singapore, Thailand and the United States concluded

SINGAPORE: Singapore, Thailand and the United States concluded the trilateral "Exercise Cope Tiger 2011" at Korat Air Base in Thailand on Friday. The closing ceremony was officiated by Colonel Neo Hong Keat from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), Group Captain Thawonwat Chantanakom from the Royal Thai Air Force and Colonel Robert A. Huston from the United States Air Force. It was the second phase of the exercise and involved a flying training exercise from March 14 to 25. The first phase was a command post exercise held at Paya Lebar Air Base in Singapore last year from December 14 to 16. About 100 aircraft and 34 ground-based air defence systems were deployed. The RSAF also deployed its G550 Airborne Early Warning aircraft for the first time in Exercise Cope Tiger 2011. More than 2,300 personnel took part.
