More WDA initiatives to encourage low-wage workers to upgrade

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) has introduced new initiatives to encourage more low-wage workers to improve their skills and employability through the Workfare Training Support (WTS) scheme. To bring the message of the WTS scheme to more workers in a light-hearted manner, WDA has produced a 20-minute video. The video in English, with subtitles and text in Malay, Mandarin and Tamil, traces the journeys of four low-wage workers who overcame learning barriers to improve their skills through the WTS. WDA will distribute the video to organisations such as its career centres at the Community Development Councils, the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i), community and grassroots organisations and self-help groups.
