Straits times: how unbiased and accurate!

Actually, although we know the true reasons why ST edited the letter, however, we should all be mindful that when sending any letters to any Forum, we should refrain from using sarcasm and double-negatives etc. These are susceptible to be misconstrued by the common reader. Just two examples: last year, when Mah Bow Tan said that HDB prices would be pegged to market price in the papers, and highlighted how bad it would be if they were not by saying ‘imagine a world where HDB prices remain stagnant’, some people actually misinterpreted it and started complaining and telling the world that ‘oh no mah bow tan is going to freeze HDB prices’ when he was clearly identifying a hypothetical undesirable situation.
