SINGAPORE: The Home Affairs Ministry (MHA) is looking to engage more youths and academics to contribute their scientific and technical expertise to national security. It is working towards a memorandum of understanding with the National University of Singapore (NUS). The MOU will provide a framework to facilitate the sharing of information and ideas concerning safety and security issues between MHA and NUS. Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam announced this at the prize presentation for the novel automobile barrier challenge. The aim of the challenge is to generate automobile barriers that have the potential to be developed further into operational systems that can augment the security operations of the home team.
