Nearly a million foreign visitors to Singapore in February: STB

SINGAPORE: The number of foreign visitors to Singapore increased to 990,000 in February, the highest ever recorded for the month of February, according to the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). STB said the number represents a 15.4 per cent increase when compared to February 2010. More than half the visitors came from Indonesia (177,000), China (150,000), Malaysia (82,000), Japan (58,000), and Australia (58,000). STB said they accounted for 53 per cent of total visitor arrivals for the month. Visitors from Hong Kong, Philippines, and Japan registered the highest growth.
