Seoul not returning N.Korean defectors: SEOUL: South Korea on Wednesday rejected a fresh demand from North Korea...

SEOUL: South Korea on Wednesday rejected a fresh demand from North Korea that four North Koreans who Seoul said have decided to defect to the South must be returned. The North suggested Red Cross authorities from the two sides meet on April 6 at the border truce village of Panmunjom to interview the four and confirm whether they really want to live in the South, the South's unification ministry said. "The four people have, of their own free will, decided to defect to the South. We cannot accept such a meeting," the ministry said in a statement. South Korea has returned 27 of 31 North Koreans who had drifted to the South across the tense sea border last month. The other four said they wanted to stay in the South, according to Seoul.
