36 businesses recognised for service excellence

SINGAPORE : Thirty six businesses were recognised on Thursday for service excellence under the Singapore Service Star scheme. Nightspots Zouk and Movida as well as F&B outlet Go India were among those recognised for offering best service. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said service standards here have improved over the last three years. The retail sector, for example, improved its score by 2 points to 72 in 2010, from just around 70 two years ago. But some observers said there is room for improvement and Singapore has some way to go before it reaches service standards in Hong Kong or Japan.
