Infocomm students to get IDA support for international competitions

SINGAPORE: Budding infocomm professionals will be given more support to participate in international competitions. The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) will cover the students' registration fees, accommodation and airfares. Acting Minister for Community Development, Youth and Sports, Chan Chun Sing announced this at the annual National Infocomm Competition. One project highlighted was by a group of Temasek Polytechnic students who competed overseas. They invented an application for stroke rehabilitation. It comes with games that aim to make rehabilitation fun, interactive, and less costly. Kim Evangelista, Year 3 Temasek Polytechnic student, Diploma in Information Technology, said: "We've noticed that patients tend to be disinterested in the treatments and exercises that therapists and doctors assign to them.
