BEFORE the opening of the Singapore Biennale 2011 (SB2011), Genevieve Chua was thinking of nothing else but finishing Adinandra Belukar. The dark and brooding installation that recreates the sense of being immersed in a shadowed forest in one of the rooms at the Old Kallang Airport venue marks the artist's first participation in an international art biennale. But The Big B was the farthest thing on the 27-year-old artist's mind. "I haven't reflected on it yet," she shared. "It was only after I finished my work that I sort of allowed myself to bask in it.
