Olympics: Wenger throws weight behind Annecy's 2018 bid (Asiaone)

LONDON, United Kingdom - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger took time out from his side's fading Premier League title challenge on Thursday to throw his weight behind Annecy's bid for the 2018 Winter Olympics. "I think it is very good, dynamic, very modern, very engaging and i like the idea it's supported by all the great sports people we have in the country," the Frenchman told reporters after a presentation by Annecy's bid team at the SportAccord convention in London. Annecy is regarded as third favourite for the July vote behind South Korea's Pyeongchang and Munich but during a presentation France's sports minister Chantal Jouanno said "favourites do not always win."
