On his 'Housing Matters' blog, he said: 'For years, architects and engineers have relied on the two-dimensional computer-aided design drawings in their work. 2-D is now gradually being replaced by the more superior 3-D.' An initiative of the Building and Construction Authority, such technologies, dubbed Building Information Modelling (BIM), allow those working on building projects to first flesh them out in the software, and put them through their paces in simulations that mimic real-life.
