SIX-TERM woman MP, Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon, 61, announced on Saturday that she is bowing out of politics after 27 years. The Ministers of State for Community Development, Youth and Sports (MCYS), and MP for Holland-Bukit Timah GRC, announced this to the media after the launch of the Holland-Bukit Panjang town's new five-year plan. She told reporters: "I have been very privileged to work with three prime ministers - MM Lee Kuan Yew, SM Goh Chok Tong and PM Lee Hsien Loong. They have created 50 years of miracle for Singapore. My hope is that the fourth generation of leaders will help create another 50 years of miracle for Singapore." Her exit will bring to 17 the number of serving MPs who have indicated they are exiting the political scene ahead of the coming elections.
