New body, the #Singapore Institute of Legal Education to train law grads to become practising lawyers #Malaysia

LAW graduates will go through a more comprehensive post-graduate course to prepare them in their careers from next month. The duties of the Board of Legal Education (BLE), which had trained law graduates to become practising lawyers for 44 years, will be taken over by the Singapore Institute of Legal Education (Sile) in May. To mark the board's end, legal luminaries headed by Chief Justice Chan Sek Keong met for an appreciation dinner at the Grand Park City Hall Hotel last night. In his speech, Justice Chan he described the institute as a new chapter in post-graduate practical training, and said it will have a much broader and more important responsibility than the board.
