GE: Study opposition's proposals carefully

SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng said Singaporeans should study the details and ask for more explanations on the policies which the opposition has proposed. Mr Wong said this on the sidelines of a community event, in response to questions from reporters on the Workers' Party's manifesto and campaign slogan unveiled on Saturday. The Workers' Party also made several proposals, such as pegging the prices of new HDB flats to the median incomes of qualifying households and assessing citizenship applicants based on a points system. Mr Wong, who's also the People's Action Party's 1st Assistant Secretary-General, said such proposals may look attractive, but he said it is important to study the details and find out how the opposition party plans to implement them.
