A moderate 5.2-magnitude earthquake shook a remote region of south-west China on Sunday

The earthquake struck at 5.02 pm (0902 GMT, 5.02pm Singapore time) around 320km north-west of the city of Chengdu in Sichuan province, the US Geological Survey said. -- PHOTO: ST FILE BEIJING - A MODERATE 5.2-magnitude earthquake shook a remote region of south-west China on Sunday, seismologists said, but there were no immediate reports of damage. The earthquake struck at 5.02 pm (0902 GMT, 5.02pm Singapore time) around 320km north-west of the city of Chengdu in Sichuan province, the US Geological Survey said. It hit at a shallow depth of 13km, the USGS said. Sichuan is still rebuilding after a massive 8.0-magnitude earthquake in the region in May 2008 left nearly 87,000 people dead or missing. -- AFP
