Myanmar's Foreign Affairs Minister meets George Yeo

SINGAPORE : Myanmar's Minister for Foreign Affairs, U Wunna Maung Lwin, met Singapore's Foreign Affairs Minister, George Yeo, in Bangkok on Sunday. This was on the sidelines of the Special Informal ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the East Asian Summit. Both ministers reaffirmed the longstanding and friendly relations between Singapore and Myanmar. They agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation bilaterally and within ASEAN. Mr Yeo said Singapore will continue to support Myanmar's capacity-building efforts, particularly in human resource development. He also invited his counterpart to make an introductory visit to Singapore at a mutually-convenient time.
