Shanghai stop, ahead of the 2012 Olympics (Today Online)

SINGAPORE - The 14th FINA World Championships begins in Shanghai in just under 100 days. For many countries, including swimming superpowers, the United States and Australia, who yesterday named a 45-strong side featuring the likes of Olympic medallists Geoff Heugill, Leisel Jones and Stephanie Rice for the meet, it is a major step towards the 2012 Olympics. The world championships, which will be held from July 16 to 31, will also be important for the Singapore Swimming Association (SSA), although any targets set for the team will not be discussed publicly right now.
