ST: Can you imagine losing a GRC helmed by the PM? Means he is no longer fit to be PM lor #sgelections

MR DANIEL Chan asked if the political leaders from the ruling party are indispensable ("Chiam and Low should not stay put"; last Tuesday). The answer is no, nobody is indispensable. The political leaders from any ruling party can be voted out by the electorate in a general election. However, a stable, capable, progressive and forward-looking government, working for and in the best interests of the electorate is indispensable to Singapore's long-term interest. It does not matter whether the ruling party is the People's Action Party (PAP) or any other party. The current status quo may not be the most ideal for those who want to see more opposition members elected into Parliament. To this group of electorate, it is not good enough even if opposition members are allowed to enter Parliament as Non-Constituency MPs.
