More than two-dozen killed in Mexico violence

CIUDAD JUAREZ, Mexico: A handicapped man was among at least 28 people who were killed in weekend violence related to organized crime in two northern Mexican states, local officials said Sunday. In Chihuahua, which shares a border with the United States, 21 violent deaths were reported, including 10 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico's deadliest city, which is located across from the US city of El Paso, Texas. In one of the shootings, authorities said, a handicapped man was among four people killed late Saturday inside a home in Ciudad Juarez. Also in Ciudad Juarez, a gunman killed six men at a gas station near the Rio Grande which separates the United States and Mexico. Authorities reported seven murders overnight into Sunday in the Pacific coastal state of Sinaloa, which along with the southern part of Chihuahua forms an area called the "golden triangle," dominated by drug cartels....
