SMS can be deadly - and bosses, enforcers need to act

The lookout on a tugboat in Philadelphia was texting away on his mobile phone when his vessel ran into a stationary tour boat and killed two people, according to the United States National Transportation Safety Board. And in Seattle, grieving parents are taking their daughter's mangled car from school to school to show just how horrific the crash was when she died texting while driving. For at least three people, the lure of SMS was literally deadly. While stories like these fortunately are not common in Singapore yet, the number of people constantly distracted by SMS and mobile devices seems to be increasing. And it is easy to see how accidents could happen.
