Slow news day, so here's a 600 word article extolling the merits of subscribing to ST directly.

Saminathan and his workers have been distributing The Straits Times to homes in the Upper Changi area. In the evenings, it is yet another round of trudging, this time to collect monthly delivery fees from subscribers. It is a trial, as they often end up knocking on the same doors repeatedly to collect the fees. But his load is lighter now. He and his team of eight still leave the newspapers at doorsteps, but in the case of about 300 subscribers - out of the more than 1,000 homes that his business delivers to - Mr Saminathan and his workers are saved the hassle of collecting payment.
