Zhang Ziyi demands apology for claims that she was paid to have sex with Bo Xilai

BEIJING - Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi has threatened legal action against the Apple Daily newspaper, which is based in Hong Kong, over a story claiming that she had been paid to have sex with a disgraced politician. The claims, based on unidentified sources, said she is under investigation in China over her alleged connection with Bo Xilai, the Chongqing party chief who was sacked in March and is being investigated for corruption and abuse of power. His case triggered the biggest political scandal to hit China in years. The reports alleged that the 32-year-old star of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Memoirs of a Geisha had sex with Bo 10 times between 2007 and last year and that she was paid 10 million yuan (S$2 million) on one occasion as a reward.
