Justice Steven Chong Horng Siong, 54, who is presently on the High Court bench, will assume the post from the present AG, Mr Sundaresh Menon, 50, who will be appointed a Judge of Appeal of the High Court from Aug 1. Justice Chong's appointment as AG will be for a period of two years in the first instance. Mr Vinodh Sabesan Coomaraswamy, 47, Senior Counsel and a partner at Shook Lin & Bok LLP, will be appointed as a judicial commissioner for a year with effect from Aug 1 as well.
