A SCHOOLS football match between Fu-chun Secondary and Jurongville Secondary was abandoned before half-time on Monday, after tempers threatened to boil over between players and the referee. The Straits Times understands that the man in the middle called off the Schools National B Division Group B tie at Springfield Secondary in the 37th minute, after being verbally abused by a Fuchun player. The player apparently disputed the three red cards that referee Kwek Jia Hao, 22, had dished out to his teammates moments earlier. A school official who was at the Under-17 game said: 'One of the players approached the referee and started shouting at him before he was pulled away by his teammates.'
