A MISS Malaysia/Pahang beauty contest that was held at a well-known hotel in Kuantan recently had a male cross-dresser among its participants, the sitting heard yesterday. When debating the motion of thanks on the royal address here yesterday, Datuk Shahaniza Shamsuddin (BN-Kuala Sentul) said the state government neither organised the event nor approved it and that the authorities were clueless as to how the beauty contest went on. She addressed the issue as a video recording of the contest went viral on the Internet for the past week and had been the talk of the town. "It also reflects the social ills among young people. This is serious," said Shahaniza. She argued that the male ratio in the country was on the decline and it would not help if more "Adams" were becoming cross-dressers.
