Homegrown singer-songwriter Kelvin Tan puts on shades for music comeback

Since his TV debut in 2005, homegrown singer-songwriter Kelvin Tan Wei Lian has never hidden his visual impairment behind shades, unlike America's Stevie Wonder and Taiwan's Xiao Huang Qi. But on the cover of his latest release, Junction, a compilation album featuring his old hits and one new track, the Project SuperStar winner is seen wearing a pair of sunglasses. He also had his shades on when he met the press at CrazyWorld Cafe for his first album promotion in three years, and it turns out the 30-year-old did not do it simply for a fresh look. 'The problem with me is when I don't put on shades, my eyes don't look focused... I can't look (straight) at the camera,' said Kelvin, as he took down his shades for illustration purpose.
