FIFTEEN minutes into a TV forum, a point-blank question came for Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong as he dealt with panelists' concerns about inflation, unaffordable HDB flats and stagnating wages. Media freelancer Danny Yeo: 'How many ministers and MPs live in public housing and take public transport? Are they out of touch with ordinary Singaporeans? How can we feel that you understand us?' Without missing a beat, Mr Lee replied that MPs understand ground sentiments through their grassroots work. Said Mr Lee: 'You can be an MP or a minister, but if you cannot communicate with your voters, you won't be able to get their support.
