Golf: Italy's Manassero wins Malaysia Open

KUALA LUMPUR : Italian teen sensation Matteo Manassero won the Malaysian Open by one shot on Sunday to give himself an early birthday present. Manassero, who turns 18 on Tuesday, shot a fourth round four-under-par 68 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club to seal his second European Tour title with a four-round total of 272. Frenchman Gregory Bourdy finished second after posting 67 for a 16-under 273 total, while Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy battled his way into contention before dropping a crucial bogey on the last hole to finish in third on 274. "I really had a good day today. I hit good shots. I am overjoyed," Manassero said.
