British Telecoms and BSkyB on Wednesday paid a whopping &pound3 billion (S$6 billion) for the rights to telecast EPL matches in Britain for three years from the 2013-2014 season. This is a 71 per cent increase over the current &pound1.76 billion deal. Media analysts told The Straits Times that the deal could see fees in other markets rise by as much as 30 per cent.
