School sports: Millennia Institute's Isabelle springs surprise at Schools Nationals bowling
Between powerhouses Anglo-Chinese Junior College (ACJC) and Raffles Institution (RI), the two schools have dominated the lanes by winning four overall titles each at the Schools National A Division Bowling Championships over the past four years. But on Tuesday afternoon, Millennia Institute's (MI) Isabelle Lee, a third-year student, caused a stir at Orchid Country Club when she clinched her school's first ever all events girls gold. "I'm quite happy, because it was quite a shock," she said. Despite her lead after yesterday's team event, Isabelle never thought to rest on her laurels. "Today was the toughest. Though I was leading, there's still the worry that others could catch up." Isabelle, 18, added that she hopes her win will spur her fellow MI bowlers to gun for more silverware.
