Major reshuffle at City Harvest Church board; founder Kong Hee steps down as chairman

SINGAPORE - In the second major management reshuffle since a probe into the alleged misuse of funds was launched a year ago, half of the City Harvest Church board is set to be replaced, while founder Kong Hee will step down as chairman of the board. A spokesman for the church told The Straits Times that the decision that Mr Kong - who will remain as one of the board's 10 members - step down as chairman had been taken "after consultation with senior members of the church". A church newsletter that was released over the weekend to its 30,000-strong congregation said the reshuffle, conducted on April 10, ensured the church complied with the charities code of governance, which was updated in January.
