THE Singapore People's Party (SPP) has received a pledge of $2 million through an anonymous supporter for a community foundation it is trying to set up. Party candidate Benjamin Pwee told The Straits Times on Wednesday that the party - together with a team of legal and financial advisers - is planning to register the foundation as an independent charity with its own board. Mr Pwee, who is part of the five-man SPP team contesting Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC, said the charity would help 'anyone in need, regardless of political affiliation, where they stay (or) which constituency they are from'.
